How to have perfect teeth, naturally

Unsightly, and often unhealthy, plaque is a naturally occurring build-up on your teeth. Normally, it’s removed through regular brushing and flossing. Over time, plaque can become tartar – which is much harder to remove. Both can lead to infection and inflammation of the gums, and conditions like gingivitis.

So how can you get rid of plaque? For those who want a natural way to clean teeth, or those with sensitive teeth looking for a non-prescription alternative, or if you’re just plain curious – here’s a list of a few tips and tricks:

  1. Baking soda and salt: 1 tbs baking soda + ½ tsp salt. Mix together in a bowl and dip the bristles of a dampened toothbrush. And scrub away! Don’t forget to spit it out. After two minutes, your teeth will be on the way to being sparkly and clean.
  2. Eat an apple: Eating an apple after a meal helps scrub away residue left on your teeth, and it’s a healthy addition to your day.
  3. Orange peels: Scrub your teeth with the inside of an orange peel for about two minutes before brushing. The vitamin C will help prevent plaque build up, and it whitens your teeth.
  4. Hydrogen peroxide: 3 parts water to 1 part hydrogen peroxide. Swish for 1 minute. It will help remove plaque, loosen tarter and remove stains from your teeth.

And there you have it! Four ways to keep your teeth naturally clean and bright.
