Incredible footage shows elephant seeking help from veterinarians after being shot in the head by a poacher

It can’t be stressed enough: nature is amazing. Things that seem extraordinary occur in nature every single day, and the latest involves a massive elephant, a poacher, and a group of veterinarians.

In newly-released video footage, an elephant with multiple gunshot wounds calmly approaches a group of veterinarians from Aware Trust Zimbabwe for help. It’s absolutely incredible footage that shows the capacity that elephants have.

Having been shot in both the head and the side by someone the authorities believe to be a poacher, the animal is visibly injured, but also resilient. Miraculously, the elephant survived in the wild with a large hole in its forehead for at least a month, according to officials. Thanks to the help the elephant has received from the veterinarians, the creature nicknamed “Pretty Boy” is currently recovering from the attack.

Poaching for ivory is still big business in Zimbabwe, with many slaughtering the majestic creatures in hopes of obtaining their ivory tusks. Respect for nature and the environment comes second to the almighty dollar, and wiping out an entire species is of no concern. For the betterment of the world as a whole, these people need to be stopped. Thankfully, there are folks like the staff at Aware Trust Zimbabwe who counteract the evils committed by helping injured creatures.

Sometimes the good guys win. Here’s hoping that becomes a growing trend in the coming weeks, months, and years.
